When am I allowed to flag and when not?

| The prime minister laid down in 2003 new flag instructions
for hanging out the flag from government-offices.
This flag instruction applies also for local government institutions.
For private persons and private institutions such an instruction does not exist,
but if they ask about it, they are advised to follow this flag instruction. |

Use of orange
pennon On
Koninginnedag and the above mentioned birthdays of members of the Royal family
the flag is used together with the orange pennon. On all other occasions the flag is used without
orange pennon.
Flagging on special occasions
On special occasions in the Royal family (as birth, marriage and death)
a special rule can be announced.
During official State visits of visiting heads of state there is only flagging at the places visited. |
